Description

What is Vesugen??

Vesugen (Lys-Glu-Asp, KED, molecular formula C15H26N4O8, MW 390.39 g/mol, PubChem CID 87571363) is a synthetic tripeptide bioregulator developed by Prof. Vladimir Khavinson at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. Derived from vascular wall-associated proteins, Vesugen is investigated for its ability to interact with DNA minor grooves and promoter regions – modulating gene expression in endothelial cells and vascular smooth muscle. Key reported mechanisms include normalisation of endothelin-1 and connexin expression, restoration of eNOS gene activity, upregulation of SIRT1 (sirtuin-1), and reduction of Ki-67-driven senescent cell proliferation. It is classified as a Cytogen (synthetic short-peptide bioregulator) in the Khavinson bioregulator system.
